GTL Continues Annual Donations to Miami-Dade County’s “Corrections Cares” Charitable Programs

GTL has been a key partner of the “Corrections Cares” program for over ten years.

Reston, Virginia (PR Web) –July 31, 2015 – Global Tel*Link (GTL), the leading provider of correctional technology solutions, announces that it will continue its annual participation in the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department’s “Corrections Cares” charitable programs with a donation of backpacks and other school supplies to needy children this summer. GTL has been a key partner of the “Corrections Cares” program for over ten years.

“Even when other partner companies stopped donating during and after the economic downturn, GTL has remained one of our most dedicated partners,” said Janelle Hall, Manager of the Community Affairs Office at the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department. “Their generosity has helped families in our community that have experienced financial hardship, medical issues, unemployment, disability, and more to outfit their children for school and celebrate the holidays.”

“Corrections Cares” includes three separate charitable programs: a backpack and school supply program for children, held every summer; a food and gift card baskets program at Thanksgiving; and a toy and gift program at Christmas. Families in need are found through the local school districts and other charitable programs. GTL participates in all three programs, donating funds and shopping for backpacks, school supplies, food, gift cards, and toys each year.

“GTL is committed to supporting our customers and their surrounding communities, and it is this commitment that led us to get involved in the Corrections Cares programs in Miami-Dade County,” said Ada Teruel, Field Service Manager at GTL and a long-time supporter of the programs. “The impact that a few hundred backpacks, toys for 100 children, or food for families for Thanksgiving can make in a community is great, and we are honored to be able to help the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department make that difference.”
