What is the Technology Incentive Program (T.I.P.®)?

T.I.P.® is a new program where prequalified facilities can obtain technology solutions as part of their inmate phone contract. The Technology Incentive Program has been introduced throughout the United States and numerous facilities have benefited from receiving various technology incentives at no additional cost. If your Facility needs new technology systems but doesn’t have money in the budget to pay for it, then a T.I.P. might be just what you need!

Some of the solutions offered through the Technology Incentive Program include:  

• DSI-OMS - Our flagship software product used by over 280 institutions to manage their facilities and inmate populations.
• Accounting System - Our industry leading software system used by facilities to manage inmate trust and commissary funds.
• Call IQ® - An investigative dashboard and query tool that enables staff to mine recorded calls for criminal activity.
• MugShot System - A web based turnkey imaging system that enables facility staff to efficiently capture and manage inmate and property photos. (provided through strategic partnership)
• Kiosk Services - OffenderConnect®'s family of kiosks provides a variety of solutions, from intake to trust/commissary deposits, which streamlines financial services in the facility. (Note: Kiosk services install as a seemless integration with the DSI-OMS (and Accounting System) functionality)
• Video Visitation - Secure visitation through video conferencing which reduces inmate movement and contraband (provided through strategic partnership).
• Electronic Medical Records - A fully functional, paperless Electronic Medical Records System with electronic pharmacy ordering, lab interfaces, Medication Administration Record (MAR) and much more (provided through strategic partnership).
• Biometrics - Verify subjects identity using fingerprint identification, facial recognition and IRIS technology. (provided through strategic partnership).
• Handheld Jail Applications - Streamline facility operations by using a rugged handheld computer to scan inmate barcodes for identification, counts, program attendance and inmate location (provided through strategic partnership)

 

These technology incentives are included as part of some inmate phone contracts at

NO ADDITIONAL COST to the facility.

I know what you’re thinking: “There is no such thing as a free lunch”; “What’s the catch?”; “There is no way that this is possible”.

With T.I.P.®, however, there really are no strings attached. Inmate phone contracts tend to work this way:

 

• Facilities are offered a commission in exchange for their inmate phone business.
• The commission that the inmate phone vendor retains is worth a certain amount of revenue depending on the amount of expenses related to that account.
• Each percentage point of the commission structure represents a different amount of revenue per account.
• The inmate phone vendor can determine how much a particular technology incentive would cost and then remove the appropriate amount of percentage points from the potential offered commission rate.

So why aren’t all inmate phone vendors offering me this program?

The problem is that most phone vendors have to purchase additional technology and then do a dollar-for-dollar reduction in your commissions. Unfortunately, this situation happens all too often and you are really not getting anything 'free'. You are essentially getting a loan and paying it back!

T.I.P.® is different!

The Technology Incentive Program is different. Because we manufacture the majority of items that we offer as value added solutions, we do not have to reduce your commission for every dollar we offer you in incentives. Often times, your commissions are NOT reduced or only reduced by a fraction of the market value of our products. Often times, we can match your current commission rate while providing many more useful products for your facility.
